I was flipping through a magazine the other day and saw the following Target ad:
It caught my eye for a couple of reasons and I took it to show it to Sage. I asked her if she noticed anything interesting about it and she almost immediately said, "That little girl is wearing braces on her legs like me!" We talked about the little girl for a few minutes, about how cute she was and about how she needed crutches but Sage doesn't.
Then I asked her if she noticed anything else interesting about the picture and she said no. I pointed out the little boy in the green shirt and asked who she thought he looked like. This is the resulting conversation:
Sage: "Simon? He looks like Simon?"
Me: "Yeah, he does, doesn't he?"
Sage: "Wait. Is it Simon?"
Me: "No, but he sure does look like him. When I was flipping through the magazine, I saw this picture and it looked so much like him that I thought, 'Holy Cow! Is that Simon? Did he sneak out of the house and go take pictures for a magazine without telling me?'"
Sage, TOTALLY SERIOUS: "So did you think the same thing about me when you saw that little girl? Did you think it was really me because she was wearing braces?"

I laughed out loud at the Simon-doppelganger, and your reaction to him. I laughed so loud that I had to then read this post to my Wild Matthew. I showed him the two pictures and he said, "Is that Simon?" We agree that Simon must have a secret modeling career.
PS-Sage is so cute, and she says the funniest things. I loved seeing her with your hubby at the LAC last Saturday. She's getting SO grown up!

Sage is SO cute! :) I love listening to her in Primary.
And, that TOTALLY looks like Simon. Maybe when he was babysitting my boys, he actually snuck out of the house to do a photo shoot. Hmm. :)

Oh, and I have to say that my 8 year old small town Utah self was first introduced to Paul McCartney because of this song and my obsession with Michael Jackson. Sad, huh?
